The importance of sunlight in breast cancer prevention
A study released by vitamin D researchers at Boston University supports the age-old addage of the benefits of exposure to sunlight to treat/prevent a number of ailments. In fact, "exposure to...summer sunlight is the body's only true natural and intended source of vitamin D". Researchers further claim that as a society, we continue spending more and more time indoors; more than two-thirds of women in North America are not obtaining vitamin D naturally, and are thus at great risk for being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Further information on this study is available here.
