Physiologists and neuropathologists at the University of Zurich have uncovered the "pathway of metastasizing intestinal cancer cells out of the blood stream." This discovery lends proof to the notion that the consequences of metastasis are the cause of cancer deaths, rather than the primary tumors themselves (which only account for about 10% of deaths in industrial nations).
