New technology has potential to improve diagnosis for colorectal cancer patients
A greater survival rate for cancer starts with the correct diagnosis at its earliest stage. With work being done at the University of Calgary, colorectal cancer has the potential to be staged and diagnosed accurately and immediately. A team of researchers led by Dr. Oliver Bathe, a surgeon and professor, has developed a serum-based blood test to determine the stage of colorectal cancer, which is critical for treatment.
