Inequalities add to risks from cancer

Social inequalities are putting thousands of cancer patients at greater risk of dying from the disease, researchers from Cambridge University suggest. The team found 5,600 people suffering from one of seven common cancers are being diagnosed at a late stage due to their gender, income, age and the type of cancer they have, reducing their chance of survival.
