Results from ENDURANCE, a randomized open-label phase III trial to determine duration of maintenance therapy in patients with newly diagnosed myeloma, has shown that "indefinite-duration maintenance with lenalidomide did not appear to have an overall survival benefit...compared to fixed-duration maintenance therapy for 2 years after induction therapy." Further, progression-free survival after 7 years was 36.1% for the indefinite-duration group compared to 29.7% in the fixed-duration group.
