A recent posting on the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) website raises discussion of the numerous advances in understanding, diagnosis, and care in cancer over the past decades. New frameworks, classification methods, and guidelines have necessitated new training regimens for oncologists, with claims that "there is only so much time before what a clinician learns in their training is superseded by new findings." ESMO has also been updating their living guidelines, "offering a complete and continuous updated overview of patient management for various types of cancer."
