Older, heavy smokers should get CT scan for lung cancer, doctors group advises

Stepping into the debate over who should be screened for lung cancer, a leading medical specialty group, the American College of Chest Physicians, issued new guidelines recommending that doctors offer annual low-dose CT scanning to people whose age and smoking history puts them at significant risk of lung cancer.
